An individual who laced sweets with sedative and gave them to minors at a summer program in the region has admitted sexual offences against two children both between nine and ten.
The accused was detained after eight youngsters and one adult experienced illness at the facility in July.
The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, confessed to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the courthouse on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he disputed one particular crime he was accused of, which was involving a nine-year-old boy.
The defendant was held in detention prior to a subsequent court date on late November.
'Treat game'
The legal representative, presenting evidence, described the defendant's actions to the legal proceedings.
She said his victims were disadvantaged youngsters who were attending a summer camp which he operated.
The defendant engaged in a "sweet game" with the youngsters, the legal counsel stated, in which he would go into the children's bedrooms when they were settling down and request they to ingest treats "rapidly".
She stated to the judge the defendant had engaged in this activity with the young males "repeatedly", and children had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.
She stated the man had been able to explain this repeatedly as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had suspicions in summer 2025.
The prosecutor added: "In the summer" his family member had suspicions about the situation, justifiably.
"They resolved" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The legal counsel stated materials including infant oil, Vaseline and injection devices were found, and his stepson notified the authorities about his suspicions.
She said the defendant went on to engage in the "candy game" with six youngsters that time - Saturday 26 July - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.
"Law enforcement" had not responded by that time," she added.
The police watchdog, the investigative body, had stated that it was investigating law enforcement's management of the situation.
The legal representative explained the children were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the stepson called the law enforcement a second time.
She stated the man then conducted the "candy game" in a room of five minors.
